Curated original art exhibitions feature artist personal appearances at opening night receptions

Naples, FL: (October 5, 2021) . . . Emillions Art opens its 2021-22 exhibition schedule with Is Art An Asset or An Investment? a curated exhibition of artworks featuring Old Masters, Modern Masters, Contemporary Masters and NFTs, today announced by Marlissa Gardner, global art consultant and Emillions Art, LLC founder and owner.

Sponsored by Dentons Cohen & Grisby Law, Is Art An Asset of An Investment?  presents more than a dozen spectacular representations and original paintings ranging from Dutch masters of the Renaissance to postmodern paintings of the 20th century by prominent artists. The exhibition takes place in Emillions Arts’ 2,000 square foot showroom located on the second floor at 837 5^th Avenue South in Naples and is open for public viewing Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am until 5 pm, October 15^th through October 31^st.

“This exhibition traces the evolution of art from the Old Masters (artists from across six centuries, from the 1300s up to the 1800s) and the rebirth of classical culture in the early and high Renaissance (1400-1500) with artworks by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael,” Ms. Gardner says, adding the exhibition covers the splendor and flourish for God during the Baroque period (1600-1750) when artists like Rembrandt, Peter Michael Rubens and Caravaggio weren’t afraid to use color and movement in their work to modern and contemporary master artworks from the mid-19th century extending into the 1970s including Pop Art and conceptual art to 21^st century NFTs (non-fungible tokens) – exciting new technology to sell digital art.

“A NFT is a record that shows who owns a unique piece of digital content, similar to the way a title shows who owns a particular car,” explains Ms. Gardner. NFTs are part of the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is a cryptocurrency, like bitcoin or dogecoin, but it’s blockchain also supports NFTs, which stores extra information that makes it different.

In November, Emillions Art introduces an exhibition of representational painter and contemporary sculptor and artist Mara Sfara’s seascapes, animal oil paintings and whimsical sparkling Lucite animal sculptures.

“Mara’s positive nature is reflected in her art, in her use of vivid colors, objects and quixotic, idyllic serene landscapes. Her works reveal stories of human relationships,” says Ms. Gardner. “Her paintings and sculptures are regularly exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide at shows in England, New York, Massachusetts, Texas, California, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Argentina and Spain. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Connecticut, Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, New York and the QCC (CUNY) Art Gallery/Museum, Bayside, New York. 

The Mara Sfara exhibition is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am until 5 pm, November 18^th until December 8^th. A private artist reception and personal appearance by Ms. Sfara is planned for Thursday, November 18^th from 5 pm until 7 pm.

Emillions Art opens the New Year with an exhibition of Canadian abstract painter Arcade Latour’s intriguing works of intensely colored landscapes using the age-old medium printer’s ink.

 “In this digital age and era of virtual reality, Arcade works with press inks – it’s a challenging, opaque and dense raw material but it yields amazing textures and magical colors that evolve over time and give life to his paintings,” reports Ms. Gardner. “Over the years, he has perfected his special art using the blows of a spatula to assist in the physically demanding art that can sometimes take two years for a painting to dry well,” she adds. Ever mindful of its environmental footprint, Latour has developed an ink recycling program where he finds the inks he uses in his paintings.

A solo exhibition of Arcade Latour’s artworks, with a rare personal appearance by the artist, is planned for January 20 through February 8, 2022.

Contemporary master artist Italian painter Dario Campinale visits Naples in February for a solo exhibition of his abstract expressionism paintings, the culmination of his impressive 55-year career of one of the world’s true art masters.  An opening reception with a personal appearance by the artist Campanile will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 5 until 7:30 pm. The exhibition will be open to the public for 10 days only — Friday, February 18^th through Monday, February 28^th.

Master artist James P. Kerr’s oil paintings, featuring his unique combination of impressionism and abstract expressionism, will be presented in solo exhibition at Emillions Art March 11- 31, 202 with an opening night artist reception on Thursday, March 10^th.  Growing up in a prominent arts community in Buffalo, New York, Kerr studied at a young age (10) with the late Lazlo Szabo, a renowned portrait painter (from 1964-1970) and Carl Illig (1971) a prominent landscape painter where he developed a high-key palette. His paintings are inspired by scenic locations in New England, Florida, the Bahamas, the mountains to the coast of North Carolina and the somber tones of New Orleans night-life and jazz musicians. He has had more than 20 one-man shows throughout the United States and his paintings are represented in hundreds of private and corporate collections, including the Wachovia Bank and Trust, RJR Nabisco, Glaxo Wellcome, Bank of America, and MBNA.
