Women Holding HandsOctober 3rd, 2022. Naples, FL. The Naples Players is humbled and thrilled to announce that the theater is safe and ready to welcome its community back. After spending the weekend rebuilding with neighbors and community members, the staff at The Naples Players returned to regular programming on Monday, October 3rd.

This week will see the opening performances of Blithe Spirit, a show that was written to bring levity to its audiences in a time of loss. Director Emma Canalese says of the show, “Noel Coward wrote this wonderfully funny and silly play in the middle of World War II because he wanted to give the audience a chance to laugh and be swept away from the realities of the world for a few hours.” Now, in the wake of tragedy, we hope it will do the same for the community of Naples.

Sponsored locally by Gallerie Indigo, Blithe Spirit tells a story where love and marriage devolve into laughter and mayhem – and ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ no longer applies. A red carpet gathering to celebrate and highlight local businesses will take place on Wednesday, October 5th at 6:30pm. Vendors include 69th season sponsor, Porsche Naples, who will be collecting the following items to bring to those in need post-hurricane Ian:

  • water
  • nonperishable food items
  • towels
  • babyfood/formula
  • baby diapers
  • toothpaste
  • toothbrushes
  • paper towels
  • razors
  • shampoo
  • body wash
  • food gift cards
  • hygiene items
  • gloves
  • trash bags
  • cleaning supplies

From October 5 – October 23, performances are Wednesdays & Thursdays at 7:30pm, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 2pm. General public tickets are on sale for $47 at the TNP Box Office. Season ticket holders are offered a price of $37. Those interested can visit NaplesPlayers.org anytime or call the TNP Box Office at (239) 263-7990.

Additionally, in an attempt to provide relief to those who were not so fortunate, The Naples Players has opened its doors to any parent or guardian looking for free childcare while Collier County Public Schools remain closed from 10/3-10/5. The staff with KidzAct at TNP will be ready with games, puzzles, arts and crafts, and smiling faces for any and all students who need it. Parents are welcome to drop their children off anytime from 8am-6pm at 701 5th Avenue S.

The Naples Players is also hiring new positions, to help provide support to those who may have lost their businesses or livelihoods. The theatre is looking to hire box office assistants and assistant house managers, to help The Naples Players continue to provide the best theatre experience in Naples to its visitors and patrons.
