(January 5, 2023) Naples Historical Society will hold two outdoor events on Friday, January 27, 2023. Both events will take place in The Norris Gardens on the grounds adjacent to Historic Palm Cottage™, which remains closed as restoration from Hurricane Ian continues.

The first of three Garden Side Chickee Chats will offer an opportunity to learn about the history of Naples’ real estate from Ray Carroll, whose pioneering family goes back five generations. A post-hurricane update on Naples Historic District by Society President & CEO Elaine Reed will follow. Chairs are provided for this rain or shine event, and hats and sunglasses are recommended. 11am-12pm; Members are FREE; Non-members $8. Reservations are required.

That evening, the Society will kick off Naples’ Centennial year with its annual Brew in the Garden. Each year a beer is named for something historically significant to Naples’ past. This year’s Naples Nitro, a nod to our city’s Centennial, will be served alongside other crowd-pleasing suds. Past Brew beers have included Palm Cottage Pilsner, Haldeman Hops, and Lil’ Louisville Lager. 5-8pm; Reservations are required; $25/pp, Members $15. For more information or to make reservations, please call 239-261-8164 or visit NaplesHistoricalSociety.org.
