Naples Historical Society is pleased to announce that it will soon return to its normal slate of educational programs, events, and tours of Historic Palm Cottage™! The months-long restoration work in the wake of Hurricane Ian is nearly complete!

In the meantime, you don’t want to miss Chester & Friends, the last Garden Side Chickee Chat of the season. You cannot understand Naples history until you’ve had a chance to hear from Chester Keene, one of our beloved Naples “Old Timers”, and others whose families have lived in Naples for generations.

You’ll hear colorful stories of Naples’ past as well as some wonderful tales that have been passed down through multiple generations. Q&A will follow. Friday, March 31, 11am-12pm. Reservations required. Bring your hat and sunglasses. Click here to reserve!

Then, the moment we have all been waiting for – Historic Palm Cottage’s Grand Re-Opening on Tuesday, April 4, 2023! Please join us for FREE house tours all week April 4-8, from 12- 4pm.

Among the highlights will be walking the original Dade County Pine floors that had to be painstakingly removed plank by plank, dried for months, and then skillfully put back in place. Knowledgeable docents will help you imagine what it was like to be a guest or resident of the oldest house in Naples at the turn of the century.
