NAPLES, FL. – The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District is partnering with the David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) to host a “Green Evening on Fifth” on Thursday, May 12. The event will bring awareness to mental health and coincides with a weekend event planned by DLC for National Mental Health Awareness Month.

From 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., many of the retail shops, restaurants and galleries along Fifth Avenue South will be participating along with live entertainment up and down the Avenue.

Representatives of DLC will also be on hand to promote their mental health resources and upcoming community event, “Mind Your Mind Community Day.” This free event to be held on Saturday, May 14th from 8 a.m. to 11a.m. at nearby Cambier Park will include a yoga class, fitness boot camp, art therapy activities, and games for children and families.

“May is nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month, so this month we will be promoting opportunities throughout the community to raise awareness about mental health and ending the stigma,” said Briana Shipe Karaszi, Fundraising Coordinator for DLC. “We hope everyone comes out to support our efforts and support local businesses.”
