City Council adopts resolution requiring masks and social distancing
Naples, FL (December 21, 2020) – The Naples City Council met today at a Special Meeting to discuss current conditions of COVID-19 in our community and the adoption of a resolution requiring face coverings and social distancing when in public places. After hours of public comment and deliberation from Mayor and Council members, City Council voted 4-3 in favor of the resolution. The resolution requires all persons to wear face coverings, defined as a mask worn over the nose and mouth, when inside any public building or business, or attending public outdoor events when it is not possible to maintain social distancing of a minimum of 6-feet from other persons.
The resolution also has requirements for all businesses and public outdoor events. There are exceptions to the resolution such as children under the age of two; persons actively eating or drinking; or persons needing reasonable accommodation as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
