February 11, 2015
Naples, FL- “Davinci & Michelangelo – Side by Side,” a multi-media presentation hosted by Mark Rodgers, comparing and contrasting the two intellectuals using images and animations of artwork, paintings, sculptures and machines, will be held March 8 and 15 at 8:00 p.m. at Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South in Naples.
Mark Rodgers is curator of the Davinci Machines and Michelango’s Exhibitions from the permanent Museum of Leonardo Davinci in Florence, Italy. The exhibition was originally exclusively Davinci until Rodgers was offered the curator position of Michelangleo. He then made the decision to showcase, for the first time ever, the two exhibits side by side. The performance encompasses the life and times, beliefs, and contributions the two geniuses made that are still relevant today.
The production, making its first Naples appearance, has played to sold out crowds across the country. “Mark Rodgers gave a spectacular performance bringing DaVinci and Michelangelo alive! You will leave the performance feeling as if you were actually back in time among these two unforgettable artists,” said an attendee from one of Rodgers pervious shows.
“Mark Rodgers brought a whole new light of enthusiasm to me with his passionate informative performance in “Side by Side.” I was left with only one word to utter…WOW!,” said Paula Ann Warters, added another attendee.
A portion of the proceeds from the evening’s performances will benefit The Naples Players. The presentation lasts approximately 2 hours with an intermission. Tickets are $40.00 each and available at The Naples Players Box Office, 701 5th Avenue South, Naples or online at www.naplesplayers.org. For more information, call 239-263-7990.
