Gulfshore Playhouse Appoints Adria Starkey, David Drobis and Naomi Buck to their Board of Directors

(July 22, 2014) – Gulfshore Playhouse is proud to announce the addition of Adria Starkey, David Drobis and Naomi Buck to their Board of Directors. Adria, David, and Naomi join current Board Members Bob Harden, Chair, Kristen Coury, President, Todd Gates, Don Gunther, Jason Korn, Tina McCain Matte, Jack Nortman, Gail Kern Paster, and Tennille Sevigny.

Adria Starkey is the Collier County President for FineMark National Bank and Trust Company. She has 3 decades of experience in financial services. Prior to joining FineMark, Adria was Chief Operating Officer of The Sanibel Captiva Trust Company and President of The Naples Trust Company. Throughout her career, Starkey held executive positions at major banking institutions including Regional President of Wachovia National Bank (Wells Fargo) and Northern Trust. She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Florida and has done post graduate work at Florida International University, University of Miami, and the University of North Carolina. Starkey’s community involvement is extensive. She is currently a trustee of the Naples Children and Education Foundation and most recently Co-Chaired the 2014 Naples Winter Wine Festival. She also served on the Grant Committee of that organization for four years. She is an Emeritus Trustee for The Shelter for Abused Women and Children and chaired that Board for 2 years. She was a founding member of Girls Inc. which developed into the Boys and Girls Club of Collier County. Past Directorships also include Artis-Naples, The University of Florida Harn Museum, EDC (Economic Development Council of Collier County), The Education Foundation, and the Community School of Naples. In 2008, Starkey received the Edison College Leadership in Fostering Education Award and in 2000; she was named Woman of the Year by Gulfshore Life and Woman of Achievement by The Community Foundation. She was most recently awarded a Glass Slipper for her continued commitment to Education by the Champions for Learning Organization.
David Drobis took office as the Chairman and CEO of Ketchum Worldwide in 1994 after joining the company in 1967. Following his retirement, David has served as the Chariman Emeritus since 2005. David’s professional activities have included serving as President of the Arthur W. Page Society and receiving their Hall of Fame Award, President of the International Trade Association for Public Relations Firms, and Founding Chairman of the Council of Public Relations Firms. Drobis was named as one of PR Week’s ten most influential practitioners of the 20th Century. He holds a M.A. from American University and B.A. from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland. David also attended Harvard University for Executive Education in Business and Wharton’s Executive Education Master’s Program. Mr. Drobis sat on the Board of the Manhattan Theatre Club for 8 years, and is currently on the Board of Artis-Naples, American University, and Angels Undercover.
Naomi Buck is the President of Presentations Plus, Inc. where she is responsible for booking all presentations at Artis-Naples, all non-symphony presentations at the Jacksonville, Symphony, and has engaged talent for the Everglades Foundation Gala. Prior to her work with Presentations Plus, Naomi served as the Senior Director of Production/Programming at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts from 2001-2014 and Executive Director of Production for Clear Channel Entertainment, currently Broadway Across America, from 1993-2001. Naomi has also worked in General Management, Stage Management, and performed in Broadway and National Tour productions. Ms. Buck is a member of The Broadway League and Florida Professional Presenters Consortium.
