Hoffmann Commercial Real Estate Installs Sculptures Along 5th Avenue South
NAPLES, Fla. (April 21, 2016) – Hoffman Commercial Real Estate (www.hoffmanncre.com) is pleased to announce the installation of four of 10 planned sculptures
along 5th Avenue South in Naples, Florida, as a part of an innovative exhibition. The remaining sculptures will be installed in the next several months.
“We believe in enhancing the areas of the country where we own real estate by investing in the arts and supporting local merchants. We will keep investing heavily in 5th Avenue South to continue to make the shopping experience great for our local shoppers and visitors as well,” David Hoffman, CEO of Hoffman Commercial Real Estate.
The four sculptures include:
“Finding Balance” by artist Bob Wilfong, located in front of the Bank of America building located at 780 5th Avenue South.
“Dancing by the Light of the Moon”, edition six of nine by artist Ruth Bloch, located at 900 5th Avenue South.
“Dancer”, edition two of nine by artist Ruth Bloch, located at 900 5th Avenue South.
“Flying Even Higher”, edition one of one by artist Ruth Bloch, located at 305 5th Avenue South.
About the Artists:
Bob Wilfong began his sculpting career in 1993 when he couldn’t find a bronze penguin for Joh, his wife. Although it seems strange for a banker to become a sculptor, his background supported his new venture. Graduating from the University of Idaho with a degree in biology, Wilfong had a strong background in anatomy, and more importantly, an appreciation for the beauty of life. Drafted into the military after graduation, Wilfong continued his inquiry into the “essence of life” as a medical researcher and was published a number of times. More importantly he developed technical skills, which would later become elemental in bringing clay to life. Wilfong ‘s original works were all animals as he sought to understand his creative gift with reproducing creatures he knew best. His new work explores the consciousness of man and his relationship to his surroundings.
Ruth Bloch was born in Israel in 1951 to artist parents. Her father was a musician, while her mother worked in ceramics. Her family was a member of a Kibbutz called Alonim, a place where childhood and early youth afforded her many opportunities to develop her artistic talents. Reaching adulthood, Bloch attended the Avny Art Institute in Tel Aviv, and took additional studies in psychology in the United States. Currently, Bloch lives and sculpts in Israel. Her work exhibits a great depth of feeling for the human figure, revealing the living unity of her masculine and feminine forces. Bloch’s works are exhibited all over the world.
