April 8, 2014
NAPLES, Fla. (April 4, 2014) – La Bazenne on Fifth – a new, modern French restaurant that will offer local and healthy cuisine alongside signature drink pairings with a social club twist – is thrilled to announce that it will host a sneak peek at its lunch menu from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today and continuing through its Grand Opening Dinner & After Party on Saturday, April 12, at its new location at 474 Fifth Avenue South in Naples. Following the Grand Opening Dinner & After Party, La Bazenne will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to close. La Bazenne will also be open today, Friday, April 4 and tomorrow, Saturday, April 5 for tapas and drinks from 5:00 p.m. to close.
La Bazenne on Fifth’s concept is simple but innovative French cuisine that incorporates new and international influences that appeal to casual passers-by and regular guests of simple or sophisticated palates. Its inspiration draws heavily on the original La Bazenne in île de Ré, France that was opened by Martine and Bernard Giacometti in 1974 and has quickly become a key institution of the North of Île de Ré Island where stars and other French elite meet on the terrace for morning coffee, lunch, crepes, evening cocktails, dinner, and late night drinks. La Bazenne on Fifth owners, Amy and Romuald Giacometti, found that an opportunity existed in the U.S. to develop the authentic “lieu de vie” (a place to feel at home) that represents modern French café-restaurants, or more broadly the “Café-Culture“. In keeping with that feel, La Bazenne on Fifth will offer an all-day, full service dining establishment where guests can partake in anything from a homemade sweet or savory crepe and a delicious coffee to start the day, or a perfectly paired wine and food menu to enjoy into the evening.
La Bazenne’s Executive Chef, Andy Hyde, previously of La Playa Golf & Beach Club, and Sous-Chefs, Gena Ross and Matt Wilson, will also offer several varieties of homemade crepes including Americanized adaptations – La Cubaine, La Rueben, and La Club galettes (savory crepes); delicious, signature Illy coffee drinks; a large selection of cheese and tapas offerings; and much more. La Bazenne also re-imagined the typical salad offerings like the L’Oeuf au Bacon, which is a gently poached egg dusted in breadcrumbs, served on a nest of baby lettuces, black truffle breadsticks and 20-year-old truffle balsamic vinaigrette. L’Oeuf au Bacon is a modernized version of La Salade Lyonnaise – the most popular salad served in France.
La Bazenne on Fifth also offers a Social Club in order to replicate the feel of neighborhood café-restaurants throughout France, allowing Club Members who register at La Bazenne’s web site (www.LaBazenne.com) to enjoy a myriad of special events and promotions.
“We are overjoyed to have found the perfect home for La Bazenne’s first location in America – Fifth Avenue South in Naples. This ideal setting, along with La Bazenne’s incomparable cuisine and attentive and friendly staff, will allow us to make every visit to La Bazenne on Fifth into a truly unique experience,” said Amy Giacometti.
