The Naples Players Present Moon Over Buffalo
April 1, 2014
NAPLES, FL- The Naples Players will present Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig April 23 through May 17 in Blackburn Hall at Sugden Community Theatre.
Theatre has-beens, George and Charlotte Hay, are performing Cyrano and Private Lives in New York… Buffalo, NY. But their dwindling dreams of stardom are once again ignited when Hollywood film director, Frank Capra, decides to drop in on their matinee performance in hopes of casting them as the new leads in his film the Scarlet Pimpernel. But what show will he see, Cyrano, Private Lives, or perhaps a mash-up of the two? Ken Ludwig, Lend Me a Tenor and Leading Ladies, pens this hilarious showbiz satire that has all the ingredients of a good farce; slamming doors, mistaken identities, costume calamities and utter mayhem, where everything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Paul Graffy will star as George, a traveling stage actor and Erin Laughlin will play the role of Charlotte, George’s wife and actress in his company. Rebecca Bronzini will play Roz, George and Charlotte’s daughter, who leaves the stage to lead a “normal” life with Ty Landers appearing as Howard, the TV weatherman and Roz’s fiancé. Anthony Renda plays Paul, the Company Manager and Roz’s ex-fiancé with Ann Megna taking the stage as Ethel, Charlotte’s nearly deaf mother. Alyssa Lee performs as Eileen, a young, attractive actress in George’s company and David Whalley will star as Richard, a lovesick lawyer attempting to court Charlotte.
Moon Over Buffalo will be directed by Dallas Dunnagan and performed Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $35 for adults and $10 for students 21 and under, and can be purchased at the box office, by calling 239.263.7990 with credit card information, or by visiting naplesplayers.org. Sugden Community Theatre is located at 701 5th Avenue South in downtown Naples.
