The Naples Players to Hold Auditions for The Spitfire Grill

NAPLES, FL- The Naples Players will hold auditions for The Spitfire Grill, Saturday, September 6 at 12:00 p.m. at Sugden Community Theatre, 701 5th Avenue South. Appointments are necessary. Call 239-434-7340, ext. 10.
Four Women, two ages 22-35, (1) age 50 – 75 and (1) age 40 – 55 are needed. Three men ages 25 – 35 are also being sought. Rehearsals begin September 29. Show dates are November 12 through December 6. Dawn Lebrecht Fornara, who has directed several shows for The Naples Players and is the resident choreographer, will direct and choreograph the play. Scripts are available at the box office for 72 hours perusal with a $20 deposit.
With “some of the most engaging and instantly infectious melodies,” (USA Today) this sincere and optimistic musical tells the story of newly released parolee, Percy, who is ready to leave her past behind and look towards a future in the small town of Gilead, Wisconsin. Upon her arrival she gets a job working at the titular Spitfire Grill for gruff Hannah, who has been looking to unload the grill due to hurtful memories. Percy soon becomes instrumental in changing the lives of the people in Gilead and with the help of timid Shelby, devises a plan to raffle the grill off with an essay contest.
The Naples Players’ auditions are open to all interested persons, regardless of age, race or experience. All that is required is the desire to be involved in a production and the willingness to commit time and effort to the project.
