CITY OF NAPLES TOWN HALL MEETING
Naples, Florida
Mayor John F. Sorey III is pleased to announce a City of Naples town hall meeting on Thursday, March 14, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Naples City Hall, City Council Chambers, 735 8th Street South, Naples. –
Mayor Sorey will make brief introductory remarks before hearing directly from residents about any ideas or concerns they have about their neighborhood and Bob Middleton, Director, Utilities, will give a presentation on the City’s alternative water supply program. Please join us for this interactive opportunity to mingle with your mayor, city council and your neighbors. The town hall meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at 7 pm.
The City of Naples was founded as a town in 1923 and became a city in 1949. The city has a council-manager form of government and is comprised of a mayor and six council members, all of whom are elected city-wide on a non-partisan basis. The members serve overlapping four-year terms. Council members and the mayor are limited to two consecutive terms.
City Council meets at 8:30 in the City Council Chambers the first and third Wednesdays of each month, with the exception of a summer recess. Workshop meetings are generally held on the third Monday of each month. Upcoming agendas for all council meetings are posted on the City’s Website at www.naplesgov.com. Meetings are broadcasted on Comcast Cable Channel 98, and are streamed through video on the internet through the Naples TV link on the City’s Website.
