Longtime retailer missed on Fifth Avenue South
September 8, 2016
There’s something missing on Fifth Avenue South.
The Name Game, a longtime business on the street, is gone.
Gloria Kovacs, the woman who kept the store going for more than 20 years, is gone.
After fighting a leg infection and other illness, Kovacs died in June. She was 72.
Without Gloria Kovacs her business couldn’t go on. While another store will soon replace hers, it won’t fill the void she’s left behind on the popular downtown street — a street she worked so hard to improve for the merchants — and for the city.
