Napa Meets Persia: Bha Bha Launches New Wine Dinner Series
June 15, 2026

Perfect Pairing: Ginger Apricot Shrimp at Bha Bha Persian Bistro pairs perfectly with a glass of Chardonnay because the wine’s natural stone fruit and citrus flavors mirror the sweet glaze, while its acidity cuts through the shrimp’s density. Bha Bha Persian Bistro today announced the launch of its new Wine Dinner Series, a curated collection of monthly food-and-wine events to be held throughout the year. The series begins on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, with a six-course Persian dining experience paired with Napa Valley wines from Black Stallion Estate Winery.
The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and is designed as a leisurely, immersive culinary journey lasting approximately two and one-half hours. Guests will enjoy thoughtfully paired courses while engaging with Black Stallion Estate Winery Ambassador Olga Khorunzha, who will guide attendees through each wine pairing and share insights into the winery’s history, vineyards and winemaking philosophy.
The evening begins with a Pomegranate Spinach Salad featuring baby spinach, Granny Smith apples, red onions, dried apricots, figs, French feta, grape tomatoes and cucumbers tossed in house-made pomegranate vinaigrette, paired with Black Stallion Sauvignon Blanc.
The second course, Abadani Tamarind Shrimp, showcases grilled shrimp with onions and julienned carrots in a zesty tamarind sauce, paired with Black Stallion Chardonnay from Los Carneros. The wine offers aromas of citrus, apple and stone fruit with notes of butterscotch and toasted bread balanced by bright acidity and a silky finish.
An Eggplant and Artichoke Gratin layered with French feta, olives and mustard-dill sauce follows, paired with Black Stallion Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon.
For the fourth course, guests will enjoy Koofteh Anar, a succulent pistachio lamb meatball served atop butternut squash and finished with a mint-infused pomegranate pinot noir reduction. The dish is paired with Gaspare Cabernet Sauvignon from Oak Knoll.
The entrée course features Bha Bha’s signature Sheeshleek — a grilled double lamb chop accompanied by tamarind shrimp, Zereshk Polo (wild barberry rice) and asparagus. The dish is paired with Black Stallion’s 2021 Transcendent Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from some of Napa Valley’s most highly regarded vineyards and noted for its elegant tannins and layers of tobacco, herbs and dark fruit.
Dessert includes miniature Persian baklava squares layered with almonds, pistachios and walnuts in delicate filo pastry finished with rosewater syrup and sour cherries, served alongside Bastani, traditional Persian ice cream flavored with saffron, rosewater and pistachios. The evening concludes with traditional cardamom tea service presented in ornate silver tea glass holders known as podstakanniks.
Seating is limited and reservations are required. The dinner is priced at $135 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
The Black Stallion dinner is the first in a series of wine-focused events planned throughout the year, each highlighting a featured winery and offering guests the opportunity to learn directly from wine industry experts while enjoying specially curated Persian menus.
